4 Handy Data Entry Tricks in Excel


These Excel tricks will surely simplify the process of entering information into worksheets and work can be done a bit faster.
 

1. Fill Formatting Only


Step 1. Select the cell you want to copy the formatting.
Step 2. Hold the bottom right corner of that cell
Step 3. Drag it to down to the last data
Step 4. Click the small icon that will appear at the bottom cells
Step 5. Choose 'Fill Formatting Only'

2. Ctrl+Enter to Place Data into Multiple Cells


Step 1. Select all the cells that you want to contain the data
Step 2. Enter the value, text or formula
Step 3. Press Ctrl+Enter

3. AutoFill to Enter Series of Data


Step 1. Select the cell you want to copy the formatting.
Step 2. Hold the bottom right corner of that cell
Step 3. Drag it to down to fill the cells you want the series of values

4. Ctrl+Shift+Plus to Insert Rows and Columns


Step 1. Select the row/column you want to insert another row/column
Step 2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Plus
