How to Count Working Days in Excel

 
Microsoft Excel is also very good in date analysis. One of the function that you might need to learn is Networkdays which can count the number of working days given the start date, end date and optional holidays.

Evaluation of Formula
It is fairly easy to count the calendar days given a date range in Excel, but what about the working days. In the example below, we will count the working days in between December 1 to December 31, 2017. Holidays can also be defined in this function.

From the calendar below the number of working days is 19 considering 2 holidays in the month of December. This matches the calculated days using Excel. Counting days in date ranges from months to years can be very easy using Networkdays function.
