Description of Plug-in
This plugin extracts the geometrical properties, material properties and factored loads of selected columns, braces and walls in ETABS and transfers to spColumn software. This also reads the output from spColumn which is significantly faster than using the graphics user interface (gui) of spColumn. It features batch design of columns/braces and walls with average speed of one column/brace/wall per second.
Detailed features are as follows:

It features batch design of columns/braces and walls with average speed of one column/brace/wall per second.
Detailed features are as follows:
1. Supports ACI and CSA concrete codes (ACI 318-05, ACI 318-08, ACI 318-11, ACI 318-14, ACI 318-19, CSA A2.3-94, CSA A2.3-04, CSA A2.3-14, CSA A2.3-19)
2. Supports METRIC and ENGLISH units for ACI code, and METRIC units for CSA code
3. Supports four rebar sets (ASTM A615, CSA G30.18, prEN 10080, ASTM A615M)
4. Option to design about x-Axis only when designing shear walls
5. Capacity reduction factors or material resistance factors can be predefined depending on confinement type (Tied or Spiral), or user defined.
6. Multiple design load combination selection
7. Auto generation of batch design input data for columns/braces and shear walls
8. Feature to transfer activations to another computer by deactivating the key which can be done anytime by the user
9. Automatically extracts the column shape and dimension from ETABS (circular, rectangular, width, depth, diameter and length) as well as the concrete strength. This can be overwritten within the plugin.
10. Option to magnify moment according to ACI 318 provisions. If CSA code is selected, it will use ACI 318 for moment magnification.
11. User can set to choose the frame type (Automatic, Sway, Non-Sway). We advised to keep it Automatic and set the the NS limit factor from the Settings tab.
12. Printing calculation report which takes the worst case for shear and biaxial bending.
13. The plugin automatically saves cti files (spColumn file); and espc files containing the input data and can be opened by the plugin.
14. A simple k value calculator are available by setting the end conditions.
15. Column design summary are provided showing design check for each combination/station.
16. Printing of design calculation for any combination/station.
17. The summary table features advanced filtering, grouping and sorting.
18. Batch design of columns with auto-generation of input data. Features advanced input like check box and drop down selection.
19. Supports copy and paste of data or Ctr+C and Ctr+V
20. Batch printing of design calculation for each column are supported.
21. Design selection from the table are supported.
22. Save data by exporting to csv file and can be imported back to the table.
23. Batch section assignment to ETABS with or without rebar.
24. Advanced filtering, grouping, and sorting of batch design table.
25. Failing columns are shown with red font formatting.
25. Option to modify the stiffness factors and to include rebar during batch section assignment.
26. Automatically extracts the wall dimension from ETABS (thickness, total length and total height) as well as the concrete strength. This can be overwritten within the plugin.
27. Option to include boundary zone according to ACI 318 provisions. If CSA code is selected, it will use ACI 318 for boundary zone special detailing.
28. When boundary zone is set, the maximum neutral axis depth c are automatically extracted from spColumn. This value is from using the NOMINAL moment strength and the factored axial strength.
29. Printing calculation report which takes the worst case for shear and biaxial/uniaxial bending.
30. The plugin automatically saves cti files (spColumn file); and espw files containing the input data and can be opened by the plugin.
31. Wall design summary are provided showing design check for each combination/station.
32. Printing of design calculation for any combination/station.
33. The summary table features advanced filtering, grouping and sorting.
